New Amsterdam

Cancellation Season is Upon Us

I have a love/hate relationship with the month of May. I love learning about all of the new pilots for Fall. However, I also hate hearing about all of the shows I had become attached to that will not be returning.

I imagine that this list will grow, but as of now we have learned that New Amsterdam, Back to You* and Aliens in America have all been canceled.

*In an ever increasing trend, there is some buzz that CBS might be interested in picking up Back to You.

Disappointed about New Amsterdam. The plotline being such, it didn't have to be a six or seven season arc - but a two or three season run could have seen it develop and come to a conclusion. Studio execs seem very short sighted - let's have some series that get a chance to have a beginning, middle and end, rather than just leaving fans hanging.

Are you serious?! New Amsterdam is such an awesome show with so much potential for greatness left in it. And I love the story line. And I do like back to you too. but if I had a choice between both, I wish that CBS would pick New Amsterdam instead. But seriously what the hell is wrong with the tv execs these days. It seems like every new show is getting canceled after one season. I'm just so tired of getting hooked and then continuously disappointed.

I agree about all the hooking in and disappointing! I believe Aliens in America was pretty expected, but Back to You seemed to be really successful for a sitcom, and New Amsterdam definitely had a good following, though maybe starting so late in the season post-strike did it in. I really liked New Amsterdam, but I think Journeyman was stronger, and that sadly didn't cut it either... rough cancellations already!

Oh for God's sake!! Is there any chance that another network could pick it up? or that at least the writers could tell us what was gonna happen!?

It's really a shame that this show has been cancelled... I liked it so much! It had so much potential in it... Sad, sad news...

I like Back to You but New Amsterdam didn't interest me as much so I'm not too bummed out. At least Back to You have a slim chance of surviving!
