Being a big fan of Cowboy Bebop, I had to check out Samurai Champloo and I was definitely not disappointed. Shinichiro Watanabe really outdid himself with this singularly innovative and creative series. The animation is of exceptional quality, with care taken to draw distinctly human expressions and nuances as well as totally cool samurai sword fighting and martial arts. As if the awesome anime wasn't enough, there is plenty of butt-kicking Edo-style and interesting tidbits of information regarding Japanese history. Throw in a dope soundtrack and cool off-the-wall urban flavor and you really can't ask for a better animated series. Two thumbs up and snaps in a circle! Word!
