Who are this year's Oscar Contenders?

| loading

EW has assembled a list of some prime film options for Best Picture, mostly releasing right around now:

Oscars: 8 Best Picture Favorites

The list includes:

Australia

The Dark Knight

Milk

Doubt

Revolutionary Road

Frost / Nixon

Slumdog Millionaire

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button

Which ones do you think will make the cut and get a nomination? Any not on this list (I'm still pulling for Wall-E)?

The Secret Life of Bees seem to be a great flick too. Milk is a definite. I thought Changeling would get some Oscar Buzz as well. I have to see Australia first, even though with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman in a movie about their native land seems to be a sure good thing to me already. The Dark Knight was a great film, but for it to be OSCAR- Worthy is kind of deep. I mean no doubt a post-humous award to Heath Ledger for his AMAZING performance as the Joker is well deserved. The entire film on the other hand had its flaws. I mean, I personally thought Wanted a better action film with much better direction and a better plot line. That's just my personal opinion. Wall-E i have heard was a great film. I have yet to see it, and plan to buy it on DVD this week once i get my check to watch the film. I'm pretty sure it will win best animated film of the year by default! Pixar is usually dominant in that category!
