Sweeney Todd

For a adaptation of Sondheim's broadway musical, it was pretty good not spectacular but good. It was very gorey(if you like that sort of thing), and oddly funny but it was nice seeing Johnny Depp in the role actually singing. Though, you can see his acting with a mix of all the strange characters he has portrayed over the years. Bonham was ok playing Mrs. Lovett but all in all the singing wasn't great and I felt like I was watching her in Harry Potter playing Bellatrix Lestrange as well as Alan Rickman's portrayl (but I do love his performances) as the Judge like Snape. And compared to the broadway version they left out a few important plot lines and songs.

To sum it up, if you love the musical and are fans of the actors you should go see it or rent it when it comes out.
