Heroes Game CONFIRMED!

| loading

Heroes creator Tim Kring has confirmed that Ubisoft will be making a game based on the hugely popular U.S. television series.

It will be a third-person action offering for PC, 360 and PS3, and could appear as soon as late 2008.

"We're very excited to be making the Heroes videogame with Ubisoft," Tim Kring told US site The Hollywood Reporter. "Time and again, Ubisoft has proven they can turn licensed properties into fantastic games."

The game will focus on the entire cast of Heroes and will be developed internally at Ubisoft - kept under close supervision from the television team.

It won't retell or bridge the cap between either the first or upcoming second series of the show. Instead it will attempt to offer its own insight into the franchise, hopefully giving it a longer lasting shelf-life.

Heroes tells the story of ordinary people who discover they have unlikely super-human powers. What follows is their journey from secrecy to recognition - so expect plenty of X-Men-like abilities on show and action packed gameplay.

"From Day 1 we've all been thinking about the game," Heroes co-executive producer Jesse Alexander told The Hollywood Reporter. "All along we've been writing some of our stories in ways they can tie into the eventual video game."

Ubisoft will be talking about Heroes at the upcoming Comic-Con event in San Diego later this week. It will also be detailing its recent acquisition of James Cameron's Avatar film licence, as well as unveiling the first trailer for Lost: The Videogame.

The French publisher clearly likes its telly.

heroes game??? ohhhh that will be sweet!!!! as long as plenty of money, thought and effort is put in place, we don't want it to be repetative, or barriered in some way, maybe a gta style might be a way to go, or how about long storylines for each character, including all characters and maybe a teamwork feature or switch between characters like hiro stopping time except for peter so he can kill him or along those sort of lines where it takes more than one hero to stop a villain. with that being said though spiderman 3 had bad reviews for it's gta style game, i just don't the game to be over-rated or over-advertised so that by the time we finally play it, it's over within a week, we need unlockables, secrets, storylines, side-missions (however all different types, rather than just a few like stop a bank robbery, catch the handbag thief etc. and then it just being someone else with the same problem, that was one of spidermans mistakes) high detailed graphics and animation should definatly be involved.

im pretty sure ubisoft have a detailed city of new york or something that could be changed for higher detail and quality, lets not rush this game.

i already played lost the game, are they making another?if so they have to do better than the first one because i had it completed in one day and was very upset and dissapointed about it.

game companies need to learn that people don't just play for say 2 hours a day, they play every hour they're awake and need a lot more than a simple storyline and repetative side-missions, and the novelty of just running round a city wears off pretty quickly.

so lets hope they can do it!!!

I like the sandbox idea, I just hope that whatever idea they do run with they limit the number of playable characters, but increase the number of characters you interactive with.

This will hopefully reduce the margin of error and allow the game to be made at a pace appropriate to the show.

One thing is for sure, the action quota must go up in order to make this a believable game

Honestly I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE GAME and I'm sure the game will be AMAZING since all the games from Ubi I played (entire PoP and AC were totally awesome) so I don't expect them to make a crappy video game just not sure how they are going to make a game in which you won't be able to run on walls and stuff. The coolest and probs the best looking part of the game will be playing with Hiro with the katana - OMG I CAN'T WAIT!!! I bet he will have the coolest moves of all Ubi video games where you could use a sword and kill stuff XDDDD
