Kicking back drinking a martini and drinking in Mad Men is a great way to spend a qiuet evening at home yet still feel like you're hobknobbing with the in-crowd. Mad Men gives us a glimpse into the world of the wealthy post-war glitterati and reminds us that the 1950's wasn't just saltine cracker-boring Leave It To Beaver wholsomeness. The characters are intriguing and at times difficult to like and the script is wonderfully edgy, full of dark humor and sharp perception. There are plenty of plot twists to keep things interesting. I love the fact that the writers of this show aren't afraid to show the gritty truths of real life, this is a show that is good for grown-ups. If you want Disney-like depictions go somewhere else. Mad Men is the Bombay Sapphire of classy television.
