Torchwood Gets a 3rd Season, Sort Of

Fans of Torchwood will be happy to know that scripts are currently in the works for a third season and that filming is expected to begin sometime in August. Even better news: John Barrowman is returning.

However, some less good news is that as of now this third season will only consist of five episodes, which will all be airing in the span of one week. Thus, it's more of a mini-series than a new season.

Could there be more episodes after this? Possible, but not yet decided.

More episodes is a good thing. Only 5? All in one week? I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that there will be more episodes to come after those 5!!

Okay, so 5 episodes sucks... but I can deal with that.

Doing all 5 in one week is rediculous. At least keep one a week... even if we only get 5, we get some sort of normality.

What is the BBC thinking just 5 episodes, Torchwood is hot as fire all most as hot as Doctor Who do not get me wrong is I had to pick one over the other I would pick Doctor Who of course but still Torchwood would be my #2 pick.

BBC is doing it just like they did with Dock Who before when they dropped it and then started it up years later how dumb are they come on people at the BBC get your head out of your ass and do things right for a change Doctor Who has all ways been a #1 show and it has been loved every where and if you keep Torchwood going it will be the same way do not mess up with it like you did with the Doctor.

[Of course you will mess up like all way we all know it because you all are a bunch of fools]

I completly agree with Lord-Dragon, what are they thinking? I guess that 5 episodes is better than none at all but I have little hope for the series to continue after that. I love Torchwood and it would be a huge misstake to put an end to it.

arg! but yeah, better that than none, i just hope i'm not away that week or something! lol

also, we may have more info on it after this weeks doctor who, if anyone saw it last time (NO spoilers for those who haven't caught up yet) you would have seen on the 'next time' part, all of the torchwood crew (atleast what remains of it - jack, ianto, gwen - also martha jones)

soo excited for that episode, but yeah, maybe we'll have more of an explanation after that episode

The 5 Episode mini-series will be interesting as Gwen and Ianto got killed in Doctor Who when the daleks invaded the hub i think. Hated it when Owen and Tosh got killed off. How are Torchwood going to regroup now with only Captain Jack (maybe ianto and gwen) at the hub.

We didn't acually see Gwen and Ianto die so hopefully they survive. All we saw was one dalek so they could have blinded it or something. Plus, Jack said that he'll be back so maybe he rescues them with that teleport thing on hes arm.

Does anyone else think that mickey would not fit in at Torchwood?

I think martha will be ok if they got her more involved.
