Smallville: Should Clark End Up With Lana or Lois?
Smallville has spent the past seven seasons developing the complicated relationship between Clark and Lana, which is an essential part of Superman's mythology. However, it's no secret that Clark eventually ends up with the feisty Lois Lane in the comic books. From the moment Lois was introduced in Smallville's fourth season, fans have wondered if the series would eventually pair her with Clark. With Kristin Kreuk leaving the series as it moves into what may be its final season, should the writers begin laying the foundation for the future romance between Clark and Lois?
Many Smallville fans would like to see season 8 focus on Clark's progression into Superman, especially if it's the final year of the show. The series has adhered to the "no flights, no tights" rule for years now, but this refusal to evolve Clark's character has resulted in some less than stellar story lines. Now that Tom Welling is in his thirties, I think it's safe to let him play a grown up for at least one season. While I don't expect Clark to be yanking on red and blue tights any time soon, it would be great to see him officially take on the role of a superhero.
Of course, being a superhero means having a very complicated love life, and this is where the great Lois (Erica Durance) versus Lana debate comes in. Though everyone knows that Lana doesn't end up with Clark, the writers have spent a lot of time developing their romance over the years. If the show wrapped up with the two of them separated and moving along two different paths, it's possible the "Clana" fans would feel cheated and upset. It wouldn't hurt to give those fans a happy ending, even if deep down they knew the romance wouldn't last.
On the other hand, Kristin Kreuk will only be appearing in a handful of episodes next season, which may make a happy ending for Clana fans impossible. With Lana out of the picture, it seems like the perfect time to start something subtle between Clark and Lois. I don't think they should date or hook up in any way, but I'd like to see an ending that makes it obvious they're destined for one another. If the show wants to leave us with a hint of the man Clark will be in the future, having him end up with Lana would be a bit of a cheat. We all know how the story goes, so why not move it along?
Now that Smallville is moving into its eighth and possibly final season, it's time to let Clark evolve. Let him take to the skies, let him embrace being a hero, and let him move on from Lana and begin thinking about a certain feisty reporter.

Man should u even ask....he needs to Superman and Supergirl would get together...and they ended up turning out to be family.
as you have mentioned, Clark would end up with Lois in the comics... i would love to see Clark and Kara getting it on....
o crap...my sentence didn't type out earlier o_O what i was saying is He need to get rid of Lana and go after Lois finally...and then i said when i was little i always thought superman and supergirl would get together but then i found out they were related...

and they should go how the story should end with clark and lois!

The way things are going, he will end up with Chloe. It will be a way for the writers and crew to say "f u!!" to the fans for complaining about Smallvile not bein superman. Its what they been doing to fans since day 1.
So frankly i give up and dont care how things go. he can get together with Martian Manhunter for all i care, as long as the entire thing ends with Clark floating at least 5 feet off the ground without being under the influence of red kryptonite or it being a dream/flashback.

As far as I am concerned, Lana has always been the one for Clark. Besides, when Tom and Erika are on the screen, they just don´t convey anything special (emotionally speaking) - better Clark and Chloe for that matter. So I just hope the finale will be a great surprise to all of us.
think Clark will end up with Green Arrow to be honest.....

Yeah, he should be hitting Lois by now... well we can honestly say that we haven't witnessed the sexual tension between the two of them. so why don't he just rock her world already...LITERALLY! LOL
Hello! One can already see things developing between Lois and Clark, gang. They started out hating each other, then it's moved to where they are very good friends. Such is as good relationships oftimes begin.
AHHHHHHHH, personally .. I would love to see Clark and Chloe together, that poor girl has dumped her heart out to him so many times and has been a wonderful friend to Clark for so long!! As far as Clark and Lana... NOOOOOOO.... their relationship [alot like the one i just ended] has been full of lies and hurt, Im sorry but no matter how much you love someone you cant live down that much pain, regret, and lies. Clark and Lois obviously are together in the end.. so i guess that will have to be okay. Lol.
But wait... I've missed a few seasons here, right now I am in the middle of season 5, where Jonathan dies. WHHHHHHAT... LEX LEAVES???!??!??? WTF. NOOOOOOOOO!!! :( Lana leaving is, uh.... normal... she's always saying goodbye... but LEX... what is SMALLVILLE aka SUPERMAN without his natural born enemy!? I am VERY disappointed to read this. *sobs* Its like, Cher without Sonny, ok bad example, tom without jerry.... GOSH...

I know, lyssarae83, it's horrible that lex is leaving...without the LL duo, im not sure Smallville's ratings will be too high...personally, i loved michael's performance every week!!!
