Alphas' Azita Ghanizada on Life with Superpowers

Premiering on Monday, Syfy's new series   Alphas   offers a new take on the idea of superhumans walking among us. Zak Penn (X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, The Incredible Hulk) and Ira Steven Behr (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The 4400) are among the executive producers behind the project, which follows Dr. Rosen (David Strathairn) and his group of "Alphas" – humans with special abilities that Rosen trains them to use.   Azita Ghanizada   plays one of the Alphas, and when I spoke to her about the series, her enthusiasm was apparent from the get go. Asked to describe her character, she exclaimed, "Her name is Rachel and she's awesome!"   Read More... http://tv.ign.com/articles/118/1181255p1.html?RSSwhen2011-07-08_164700&RSSid=1181255&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ignfeeds%2Ftv+%28IGN+TV%29

The 'Alphas' Track Down an Unerring Sharpshooter in Syfy Series Premiere (VIDEO)

Syfy wrapped up its night-of-a-million-three premieres with the series launch of 'Alphas' (Mon., 10PM ET on Syfy). The idea is to tap into that same sense of joy and wonder that fans got when they watched the first season of 'Heroes.' Remember when that show was great? Well, it's not quite as everyman has a superpower as 'Heroes,' but there's a lot to like about the team we meet. For one, they're already organized as a team under an eccentric doctor, like so many comic book teams that have existed over the years. To help ease us into this reality and these people, we're introduced to who will become the fifth member of the team. And in classic comic book fashion, they had to fight before they could all decide to get along. But that scene showcased everyone's abilities beautifully. http://www.aoltv.com/2011/07/12/alphas-track-down-unerring-sharpshooter-syfy-video/

Interview: ALPHAS’ Warren Christie Talks Stunts, Cast Chemistry and Zombies

After talking to the lovely  Azita Ghanizada  about  Alphas ,  Daemon’s TV  was delightfully surprised to also get the chance to talk to Warren Christie, the resident “hyperkinetic” on the  Alphas  team who could realistically harpoon a fly with a toothpick thanks to his extreme ability at controlling his body movements. Warren had a lot to say about what folks can expect from the premiere episode, what kind of stunts come with the character ability and how much he wants to be a zombie…but a nice one though.
