The Most Important Shows on TV: Week of October 6, 2014

Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed—or at least be able to fake it—with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV.   The Flash (Series Premiere) Tuesday at 8:00pm on The CW Why: Because people are crazy about companion series (and fellow DC Comics adaptation)  Arrow , and this promises to be more of the same, but featuring a different, exceedingly attractive man. He's Barry Allen and he can go really fast after an accident with a particle accelerator! Yay, physics! Prepare to talk about: Whether Barry is as interesting/hot/cool as  Arrow 's Oliver; what super power you'd want to have if you had an accident with a particle accelerator; where you stand on the DC vs Marvel Comics divide.   American Horror Story (Season Premiere) Wednesday at 10pm on FX Why:  Because this time, Ryan Murphy's squirm-inducing pseudo-anthology series takes place at a freak show and if you watch  AHS , you can't say you're beyond freak shows. Prepare to talk about:  Conjoined twins, bearded ladies, and how Ryan Murphy is like, in your opinion, the only dude out there writing interesting parts for women! I mean, Thursday night ShondaLand is cool for some people, but you want your women to have problems that came out of your childhood nightmares.     The Walking Dead (Season Premiere) Sunday at 9pm on AMC Why: Because Terminus turned out to be a CANNIBAL CAMP (probably), and Rick Grimes has declared that the cannibals (or whatever) have f**ked with the WRONG PEOPLE (aka his friends). Prepare to talk about: Who gets eaten on the way out of Terminus (because someone will, obviously); how badass Daryl Dixon is; whether you'd want to survive a zombie apocalypse because you know, it seems like an awful lot of work to put off something as inevitable as death, and peer pressure is definitely a real thing, especially when you're vastly outnumbered.     Leah E. Friedman  is the editor of SideReel.com. You can follow her musings on  Twitter .

5 Reasons We Love Watching: American Horror Story

Let’s face it — the Fall TV lineup isn’t complete without new episodes of American Horror Story , and after months of rumors, teasers, and terribly disturbing fan art, the Freak Show has raised the curtain! With each new season, AHS just gets creepier and creepier, in the most entertaining way possible. And the best part? Each installment is its own self-contained series of nightmares, so you don’t even have to catch up on past seasons before jumping right on in (though we highly recommend watching ALL OF IT). So without further delay, here are the 5 reasons we’re hooked on this piss-your-pants scary FX show: 5. You can go ahead and expect the unexpected. Awwww, did your favorite character just get killed off? Don’t worry, you probably haven’t seen the last of them: 4. RANDOM-A$$ GUEST STARS comin’ atcha LIKE WHOA: 3. It’s got more twists and turns than that pretzel place over at the mall. OOOOH do you think there’s going to be a human pretzel character on AHS: Freak Show ?!?!?: 2. Even three seasons later, Tate and Violet are still the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful couple on FX: 1. Whether she’s playing a nun-gone-wrong or a washed-up HWIC (Head Witch in Charge), Jessica Lange is always the baddest b*tch on earth. Werk: No, seriously though: Okay, we're done now. div.reason h3 { clear: both; padding-top: 30px; } div.reason img { float: left; width: 400px; } div.reason p { clear: both; }

Kat Graham Is the Next Supreme Look Out, American Horror Story! (PHOTOS)

One of the biggest mysteries on American Horror Story: Coven was finding out which witch would be the next Supreme, but the whole storyline could have been solved a little earlier if theyd considered Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett). Seriously, not only does she play a witch on The Vampire Diaries, but she has the killer wardrobe to back it up! The 25-year-old star attended the Montblanc celebration for the grand re-opening of it's Atlanta boutique on September 25 in the ATL.
