Just a few days ago, "American Horror Story: Coven" gave us the first promo to actually feature cast members -- sending fans into a frenzy over the upcoming witch-themed season. On Friday (Sept. 13), FX released new artwork for the highly-anticipated third round of Ryan Murphy's creepfest, and while they don't feature any cast members, they certainly strike a tone.Returning to the imagery from one of the early teasers, both posters find their subject on pins and needles -- quite literally. Clearly, this pinning imagery is important to the season, or it wouldn't factor so heavily into the promo material. But what could it mean?Is the pinning some sort of punishment at the school for witches? Or could it be the work of some other malevolent force? FX has set a premiere date for the upcoming third season of "American Horror Story," subtitled "Coven" and featuring lots of witchy women, headlined by Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson and Angela Bassett. First off, the witches plot has been confirmed by the title: "American Horror Story: Coven."
