Monkey business on 'Animal Practice'

She's a hairy little diva, but her fellow actors don't seem to mind. Meet Crystal, the Capuchin monkey taking center stage on NBC's new sitcom 'Animal Practice.' Crystal nibbles on some yogurt and nuts as her eyes dart around the room. A wardrobe person comes by with an outfit to wear in the next scene but it is too big to fit her slim figure and Crystal seems less than thrilled. http://feeds.latimes.com/~r/latimes/entertainment/news/tv/~3/KwVLgU1Q6O8/la-et-st-animal-practice-crystal-capuchin-monkey-20120926,0,1841293.story

Rob Corddry on the 'Childrens Hospital' Emmy nod and what he thinks of 'Animal Practice'

Anyone who watched Rob Corddry when he was a correspondent on "The Daily Show" -- or even during his improv days at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater in New York -- might have had an idea that he could come up with a world as twisted as the one in "Childrens Hospital." But even Corddry is surprised at what he and his writers have come up with for the show, now in its fourth season on Adult Swim (airing Thursdays at midnight ET).Corddry created the show during the downtime of the 2007-08 writers strike, and even though its first season was on the web, it attracted actors like Erinn Hayes, Ken Marino, Megan Mullally and Henry Winkler to the cast. Now, it's come full circle, nominated for an Emmy in the live-action short-form entertainment program category, in competition with a number of webisodes -- including the folks at his old "TDS" stomping grounds.Corddry, who also... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/09/rob-corddry-on-the-childrens-hospital-emmy-nod-and-what-he-thinks-of-animal-practice.html

TV ratings: 'America's Got Talent' tops Tuesday, 'Go On' and 'Animal Practice' encores do OK

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012"America's Got Talent" was down a tick from last week's ratings, but it still finished as Tuesday's top show. NBC also ran encores of the "Go On" and "Animal Practice" pilots that previewed during the Olympics, and unsurprisingly their numbers were much, much lower. Still, for summer comedy repeats, they did all right.NBC led the night with 7.9 million viewers and a 4.9 rating/8 share in households. CBS (7.15 million, 4.8/8) was second in viewers, finishing well ahead of FOX (4.7 million, 2.8/5). ABC came in fourth with 3 million viewers and a 2.1/3. The CW (735,000, 0.5/1) trailed.NBC also led the adults 18-49 demographic -- barely. Its 2.0 rating just beat FOX's 1.9. CBS took third with a 1.1, followed by ABC, 0.8, and The CW, 0.3.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/08/tv-ratings-americas-got-talent-tops-tuesday-go-on-and-animal-practice-encores-do-ok.html

'Animal Practice': Justin Kirk + Joanna Garcia + monkey in tiny ambulance = ? -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

After closing ceremonies of the Olympics on Sunday night, NBC will transition from five rings to three when it previews the first episode of its new circus-like workplace comedy  Animal Practice.  (The show premieres in its regular time slot on Sept. 26.) You will meet the gold medalist of veterinarians: the highly skilled Dr. George Coleman (Justin Kirk), who, alas, often receives a DNF when it comes to his people skills. That’s where Dorothy (Joanna Garcia) comes in. She just inherited his respected-but-disorganized animal hospital from her grandmother, and she’s going to run a much tighter operation. Also, George used to date Dorothy until she left him without warning or explanation two years ago, so this shouldn’t be awkward at all. 'Animal Practice' preview gets decent numbers after Olympics

NBC's odd scheduling for the Olympics closing ceremony Sunday night (Aug. 13) drew one last barrage of angry tweets, but it also gave new comedy "Animal Practice" a pretty good platform to be seen by viewers. The commercial-free preview, which started at 10:58 p.m. ET, drew 12.8 million viewers and a 4.1 rating among adults 18-49. Those are pretty good numbers, but not as strong as the 16.1 million viewers and 5.6 demo rating for a similar sneak peek of "Go On" last week.NBC notes, however, that "Animal Practice" had similar retention rate to the "Go On" preview: 49 percent of the 18-49 audience in the half-hour prior to the preview stuck around Sunday vs. 54 percent for "Go On." How NBC scheduled the night, though, left a lot of people scratching their heads. After a 90-minute special called "London Gold" that started at 7 p.m. ET, the network showed an abbreviated version of the closing... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/08/animal-practice-preview-gets-decent-numbers-after-olympics.html
