A young couple struggling to build a better life hits some unexpected obstacles in this independent drama shot on location in Virginia. J.T. (Eric Sweeney) is a handsome but troubled man in his mid-twenties who lives in a run-down trailer park and wants to start his own business with a battered old carnival ride he's trying to restore. J.T. meets Sara (Audra Smith), a woman whose last surviving relative has recently died; Sara needs affection and stability in her life, and she pins her hopes on J.T. after falling in love with him. Sara has big dreams of marrying J.T. and helping him run his business, but someone is standing in her way. Mr. Johnston (Sean Gullette) owns the trailer park where J.T. lives and has some sinister ideas; he wants J.T. to be a part of them, and isn't about to take no for an answer. Blue Ridge was the first feature film from writer and director Vince Sweeney; the picture had its world premiere at the 2010 Cinequest Film Festival.
