Elementary Season 2: Why Moriarty and Sherlock Have the Best Romance on TV

Matthew and Mary are so yesterday, and Jess and Nick have resigned themselves to snugly coupledom, which leaves me with precious few TV romances to root for. Then “The Diabolical Kind” happened and  Elementary  reawakened all of my dormant Moriarty and Sherlock feelings. I’ve tried to ignore them for the past few weeks as the series returned to cases of the week, but my mind just keeps going back to that perfect moment in the hallway when Moriarty told Sherlock she tried to do what he would have done. Fast National ratings for Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014The Winter Olympics gave NBC another dominant ratings win Thursday, as the network's coverage improved a bit on Wednesday's numbers. Overall, the games are running a bit behind the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver -- as expected when the games are staged outside North America."American Idol" held up fairly well opposite the Olympics, as the unveiling of the 30 semifinalists was off only a tenth of a point in adults 18-49 vs. last week. "Rake" was also steady (if low) for FOX. The night's only other original show was "The Taste" on ABC, which was down from a week ago.NBC delivered 22.9 million viewers and a 13.4 rating/21 share in households for the night. CBS (7.02 million, 4.3/7) narrowly beat FOX (6.96 million, 4.2/6) for second place in viewers. TV ratings: Winter Olympics give NBC a win, 'Big Bang Theory' holds up well Thursday

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014The opening night of NBC's Winter Olympics coverage scored ratings well below the first day of competition in the 2010 games. But the coverage of preliminary events a day before the opening ceremony still led the Peacock to an easy win for the night."The Big Bang Theory" and "American Idol" each held fairly steady opposite the Olympics, and CBS' "The Millers" actually improved a little in adults 18-49. Pretty much everything else was off a little bit, though.NBC delivered 19.6 million viewers and an 11.1 rating/17 share in households in primetime, easily beating CBS' 10.4 million and 6.5/10. Elementary Scoop: Rhys Ifans Returns for Mycroft-Centric Finale

  Mycroft is coming back to  Elementary   in a big way! The final episodes of the CBS drama's sophomore run will feature the return of Sherlock's ( Jonny Lee Miller ) brother Mycroft ( Rhys Ifans ) to New York. Fast National ratings for Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014Thursday night's top two shows -- "The Big Bang Theory" and "American Idol" -- each fell some from their last original episodes, but they maintained their positions as the No. 1 and 2 series among adults 18-49. CBS' other comedies were down as well, with "The Crazy Ones" and "Two and a Half Men" tying their series lows among adults 18-49, although "Elementary" was even (and up in viewers). FOX's "Rake" also fell in its second week. Hulu Lands On Demand Rights to ‘Elementary’

The Brownstone is great, but Joan and Sherlock have found a nice online home on Hulu Plus. CBS and the streaming giant have struck a deal for the subscription video on demand rights for Elementary . After each season is broadcast, Hulu will have the exclusive rights to offer those seasons to its premium subscribers. Hulu and CBS struck a similar deal for  The Good Wife  in 2013.
