TV ratings: 'Shark Tank' scores Friday, 'Funniest Fails' doesn't fail

The Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 played out as they usually do, with CBS scoring a sizable total-viewer win and ABC riding "Shark Tank" to the top of the 18-49 heap."Shark Tank" was easily the night's top show in the demographic, improving on last week's numbers. The rest of ABC, however, was down week to week. The premiere of "World's Funniest Fails" did OK for FOX, improving the timeslot average for the season, and "Glee" was even with its premiere. "Blue Bloods" held steady for CBS, while NBC's "Constantine" dropped with a move to an earlier slot.CBS drew 10.4 million viewers and a 6.4 rating/11 share in households in primetime, easily beating the 6.7 million and 4.3/8 for ABC. 'Grimm' returns with Wesen hate groups, Hexen-Juliette and Wu joining the Scooby Squad

"Grimm" is back, and it might just be better than ever. After leaving dramatic cliffhangers for all of its main characters in its fall finale, the NBC series' winter premiere picks up right where the show left off.It turns out that Monroe's situation with the Wesenrein is a lot more dire than many might have realized. Though it seems really doubtful he'll get burned on a stake before Nick & co. save him in next week's episode, "Grimm" gets incredibly dark here when another Wesenrein captive meets a horrible end.Though it's a sci-fi/fantasy series, here "Grimm" transcends into some serious commentary about hate groups and the fact that they are still prevalent in today's society. Kudos to the showrunners for taking on such heavy topics and hopefully starting conversations through the story of Monroe and Rosalee.
