Claire Danes hasn't really starred on a TV series since My So-Called Life , so we're more than welcome to see her back on the small screen with Homeland . She has an entirely different role now though, playing Carrie Mathison, a CIA operative with a mission. Homeland continued its first-season momentum last night, airing another suspense-filled episode that culminated in a sudden death. What comes next for the Showtime drama? 'Homeland' preview: Damian Lewis plays the 'hero card'

On Sunday's "Homeland," Sgt. Nick Brody (Damian Lewis) opens up and lets the press -- and the country -- find out a little more detail about his eight years in captivity by Muslim terrorists. He's finally -- as predicted by Saul (Mandy Patinkin) -- "playing the hero card." In the preview clip above, Brody is asked about the two pages-worth of "scars and identifying marks" on his post-rescue medical report. He admits he was beaten in captivity -- abused both physically and mentally."They want you to lose faith -- lose faith in your country which they say is the devil, in your brother Marines who they say aren't coming for you because you haven't got any military value and your wife, who they say has her arms wrapped around someone else."The shadowy terror mastermind Abu Nazeer appears in Brody's flashbacks. Homeland Sneaks Peeks: Did Brody Lose Faith?

Through two episodes, there can really be no dispute: Homeland is the best new show on television. This gripping Showtime series features Claire Danes and Damian Lewis at their best, while taking viewers inside the world of terrorism in 2011. Carrie Gets Information From an Asset That Makes Her More Sure on 'Homeland' (VIDEO)

The plot thickens on 'Homeland' (Sun., 10PM ET on Showtime) when one of Carrie's assets in the field contacts her with a confirmed sighting of one of the biggest terrorist figures in the world, Abu Nazir. This is great news for Carrie, but terrifying for the asset, Lynn. She's been acting as a consort of sorts for a Middle Eastern prince, but now that she's seen the prince talking to Nazir, she's terrified for her life. But with Carrie's conviction that Brody is connected with Nazir, the timing of this is too important for her to let Lynn out.

Homeland Episode Preview: Brody at Home

Simply put, it's the best new show of the fall. Homeland debuted on Showtime last night to rave reviews, including strong praise from TV Fanatic's Dan Forcella. Read his review of the pilot HERE . TV Ratings: 'Homeland' makes strong start, 'Dexter' still slays

Showtime enjoyed a nice Sunday night, thanks to two of its dramas. Flagship series "Dexter" saw its biggest premiere yet for the Season 6 kick-off, bringing in 2.2 million viewers during the Oct. 2 9:00 p.m. broadcast. That number is also gave the network's highest telecast of 2012. The episode was also buoyed by two repeat viewings (at 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.) which brought the total audience to 2.76 million. Clare Danes' conspiracy thriller "Homeland" made its debut at 10:00 p.m. And though the episode has been available online for several weeks, reportedly streaming for 1.4 million viewers, it still managed to give the network's its highest-rated drama premiere since "Dead Like Me" in 2003. The initial broadcast took in 1.08 million viewers....

Carrie May Have Uncovered Evidence Against Brody on 'Homeland' (VIDEO)

After much anticipation, the star-studded 'Homeland' (Sun., 10PM ET on Showtime) finally premiered, and it delivered on every level. Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin are a revelation together, with Danes absolutely smashing a very unpredictable and uncertain role. Carrie Mathison is already one of the most fascinating lead characters on television. We come out of this premiere with no real grasp on whether she's crazy and grasping at straws, or crazy but on to something really big. Yes, we're pretty sure, she's crazy, but it's the kind of crazy that draws you into her world.
