One of Nickelodeon's most popular shows is about to welcome a pretty big guest star. First Lady Michelle Obama is set to appear in an upcoming episode of "iCarly" to promote Joining Forces, an initiative that will aim to increase awareness and support for military families, the Nickelodeon president Cyma Zarghami tells the AP.On the show, titular character Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) is the daughter of a colonel who is serving overseas. The plot of the episode will feature Carly's friends breaking some rules to set up a birthday chat between Carly and her father, which the first lady discovers and comes to talk to the girl about it. 'Big Bang Theory' star Jim Parsons is traveling across the space-time continuum networks for a guest role on Nickelodeon's 'iCarly.' According Entertainment Weekly, Parsons will play a psychiatric patient who believes he's from the future. The Emmy winner's character, Caleb, befriends Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and her friends when they visit the psych ward he calls home. Jane Lynch and Jack Black have recently popped up in guest spots on the hit Nickelodeon series. Look for the episode featuring Parsons to air later this year as part of Season 4. Big Time Numbers for Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon hit two ratings records Monday with its premiere of Big Time Rush and an all-new episode of iCarly. Following the wild ride of four best friends who go from hockey-loving teenaged boys in Minnesota to potential pop stars in Los Angeles, Big Time Rush scored 6.8 million viewers and was Nick's most-watched live-action premiere with kids and tweens, Nickelodeon stated in a press release. Beginning Jan. 22, the series will move to Fridays at 8:30/7:30c. iCarly, the top series on television for kids ages 2 to 11, had its highest rated episode of all time. The episode titled "iSaved Your Life" garnered 11.2 million viewers. iCarly is currently in its third season and stars Miranda Cosgrove as Carly, who produces her own web series, iCarly, with best friends Sam and Freddie.
