Kidulthood is a 2006 British film about the life of several fifteen-year-olds in a deprived area of north and west of London which resembles the Acton estate. It was directed by Menhaj Huda and written by Noel Clarke, who also appears in the film. The film uses the device, beginning with a group of 'kidults' getting the day off school after a middle-class schoolmate's (Katie's) suicide as a result of being bullied.
