"Mom" brought its second season to a close Thursday (April 30) in an episode that saw Bonnie (Allison Janney) and daughter Christy (Anna Faris) finally reunite in the face of Christy's son Roscoe (Blake Garrett Rosenthal) no longer wanting to live with them, instead choosing to live with his dad and new stepmom-to-be.Janney tells Zap2it that with a show like "Mom," the writers can't keep going back to the well of Bonnie falling off the wagon, so perhaps after this heartbreaking turn of events with Roscoe, it'll be Christy who struggles in Season 3. Christy stumbling in her fight against addiction would be especially hard to watch after she just celebrated two years sober, but that's the nature of a show like this."We can't have a show if everything is working beautifully and smoothly," says Janney. "I think that since Rosco has a safe place to be, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Christy... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Zap2it/~3/HUZ_KqWrqOw/mom_season_3_allison_janney_wouldnt_be_surprised_christy_struggles-2015-04

"I'm proud of the way we're able to deal with serious issues and find humor at the same time," Gemma Baker tells THR. "I think sometimes people are surprised by that, but that really is how life is. I know for me, the things I've gone through that are painful and serious, the only way I'm able to cope is to find humor in it somewhere." One might not think that alcoholism and struggling with addiction would make for a great sitcom, but CBS comedy "Mom" manages to deftly find the balance between serious and funny. Star Allison Janney tells Zap2it the writers impress her to no end with "how they've managed to deal with such a serious issue." "It's so great to have this show that has all these women, from all different areas of life, and they're all together because of alcoholism," says Janney. "Alcoholism is the great leveler. Everyone is dealing with the same issue, whether they're black, white, women, men, rich, poor. It provides a great opportunity to have so many different women who ordinarily would never be friends if it weren't for this shared disease they're trying to battle."
