In the NARUTO manga and animated series, Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja in training, wants to be the best ninja in the land. He's done well so far, but Naruto knows he must train harder than ever and leaves his village for intense exercises that will push him to his limits. NARUTO Shippuden begins two and a half years later, when Naruto returns to find that everyone has been promoted up the ninja ranks - except him. Sakura is a medic ninja, Gaara has advanced to Kazekage, and Kakashi - well, he remains the same. But pride isn't becoming of a ninja, and Naruto quickly regains his focus when he learns that Sasuke never returned from his search for Orochimaru and that the mysterious Akatsuki organization is still an ever-present danger. The more Naruto finds out about Akatsuki's sinister plot, the more he realizes that nothing in his world is as it seems. Naruto is finding that he's older, but will he also prove wiser and stronger?

Haruno Sakura

Haruno Sakura redeems herself from being the weak “female ninja with no special talent�. After more than 2 years of training under the tutelage of Godaime Hokage Tsunade after Uchiha Sasuke left Konoha, Sakura’s “Inner Sakura� strength is no longer contained in her schizophrenic mind. She can now punch with real power, with the damage done by a violent punch almost rivaling that of Uzumaki Naruto’s Rasengan.

Gaara of the Desert

Following his fateful fight with Uzumaki Naruto, Gaara has found a new idol in his former opponent and proceeded to become a good guy. Gaara has come a long way, leaping from being a Genin to taking over to his father’s Kazekage seat.

NARUTO SHIPPUDEN CHARACTERS

Sasori

Sasori of the Red Sand lost his parents in the war against Konoha Village when he was a child, and yearned for parental love. Having a caring grandmother didn’t seem to be enough for him, although Grandma Chiyo taught him how to play with puppets, ninja-style. The first puppets lonely little Sasori built were in the likeliness of his parents, in an attempt to recreate the warmth of being in their arms. However, his puppets broke, and perhaps, with Sasori’s sanity along with it.

Chiyo

An old retired Sand ninja and puppetmaster with the sole desire to see her grandson before she dies. She lost her children to Konoha’s White Fang during the Third Secret Ninja War. After which, she brought up her grandson Sasori of the Red Sand, single-handedly.

Hidan

Hidan is the second newest member of Akatsuki group who considers killing his religious calling. He is a devoted follower of a cult called Jashin, which worshiped an evil deity. He is considered immortal because of the kinjutsu used to him by Jashin. His morals are as corrupt as his religion: Hidan is very disrespectful and very much comfortable in uttering profanities and vulgarities. He is arrogant and overconfident because of his immortality. He even fights without a concrete plan or strategy.

Kakuzu

Kakuzu is the self-proclaimed, Treasurer of Akatsuki. He is in love with money and gets very inspired in carrying out mission if money is involved. His real ability lies in the dark grey threads woven on his body. He uses this to pluck out his opponent's heart and make it his own. These threads also help him to detach and attach any of his body parts while fighting or stitch up his injured teammates.

Deidara

Deidara is the youngest member of Akatsuki Group and has great respect and passion for art. He is an S-class missing nin from Rock Village who left his town in pursue of greater opportunities to practice his art.

Kisame Hoshigaki

Kisame Hoshigaki is an S-class missing ninja from Mist Village. Kisame's main nature type is water and has several powerful techniques of water-based jutsu. He is originally from a group called Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, in which he is believed to be the strongest. He carries a big blade he named, Samehada which he can yield with ease due to his huge chakra reserve.

Madara Uchiha

Madara Uchiha is the founder and benefactor of the high caliber criminal organization, Akatsuki. He is the first to use the revered technique among Uchiha clan, the Mangekyo Sharingan. He is once a great man of virtue but greediness got the best of him. His ultimate goal is to gain the enormous power of the tailed beasts and further strengthen his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. He has calm disposition and a cunning villainous personality.
