Yamato suggests that Sai's true objective was to kill Sasuke, who is a threat to Konoha, on Danzo's behalf. Sai then approaches Sasuke's room and unintentionally awakens him, causing him to try and restrain him. Sasuke retalliates by causing a giant explosion. Sakura arrives and tries to restrain Sai, hoping to discern his true mission, but she stops after hearing Sasuke's voice. Naruto joins Sakura and glances up at his former friend. Sai then declares that he now wishes to bring Sasuke back to Konoha.
