'Necessary Roughness': Did TK Survive Assassination Attempt?

After a season of progress under the care of Dani, TK faced a major setback in last season's finale of " Necessary Roughness " (Wed., 10 p.m. ET on USA). In fact, he faced an assassin's bullet. But did anyone really think he would die? That mystery was solved quickly, as TK is alive if not necessarily well in the second season premiere. Six weeks later, TK is of course ready to clear himself, and the team is more than ready to welcome him back with open arms. But at a promotional event, Dani is proven right -- when is she not right? -- as TK is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. In his PTSD-deluded state, he thinks he sees the gunman in the crowd and goes for his own gun. That could have been a horrific disaster, so thankfully Nico was on hand to keep TK from firing into a crowd of Hawk's fans. That would have probably ended his career right there. As it is, he seems to have regressed some of the progress, but that's the nature with these kinds of shows. Forward momentum must happen as slowly as possible. Dani and Matt continue to canoodle, while Marshall Pittman finally got some screen time, and a face to go along with it. His divorce is likely to shake things up for the whole team, creating even more drama for both TK and Dani to contend with. "Necessary Roughness" continues Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on USA. TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.

Callie Thorne Dishes About What’s Coming for Dr. Dani in Season Two of Necessary Roughness

Necessary Roughness  returns for its second season tonight at 10/9 on USA Network. As the sexy and talented Dr. Dani Santino, Callie Thorne took a few minutes on the Atlanta set to let us in on what we can expect for Dr. Dani this season, what she’s learned from her character and more. On what it was like coming back to shoot the second season Callie Thorne: It’s always a little nerve-wracking coming back into a show, and before this I didn’t have so much to think about. This was the first time coming back into the second season of the show being “number one” on the call sheet. I was very nervous about that. Luckily had about a week before we started shooting, which was little bits of rehearsals and little bits of fittings. So the guys and I got to play and talk and hang out and we all just naturally fell back into our roles. It really made the first few weeks of work that much more sort of giggly and fun. Because really I think what we all respond to the most is laughing with each other. Even if it’s dramatic scenes or silly scenes – that’s how we get into it with each other and I think that shows up on screen. So it was very smart for them to have us come a week ahead of time. I have to say it was easier than I thought; mainly because we all laugh a lot and we’re able to make those connections again very easily. Read More...

Necessary Roughness Boss Talks About What Fans Can Expect in Season Two

Necessary Roughness  returns for its second season on Wednesday June 6 at 10/9 on USA Network. Showrunner Kevin Dowling sat down to answer a few questions from the Atlanta set, letting us in on what the show’s focus this on this season, the many patients that Dr. Dani will see this year, the relationships that will be explored and much more. On what the show will focus on in its second season Kevin Dowling: I think it’s a pretty big decision to focus more on our team; on the Hawks family. I mean there’s always been this parallel theme of Dani’s nuclear family and how it gets affected by taking on this new family and the fact that there are pressures that put all kinds of  demands on the original family, and what does that mean? We’ll be [focusing on] the off-season move after playoffs, and the winter season we’ll take us into the [football] season again. But it gave us lots of ways to approach things because we really do get to go to the training facility more, see what that’s like. See what it’s really like if you have an injury and try to come back from it. All of the psychological parts of that, and, and it also allows for Matt and Dani to work closely together which people seem to like. Read More...
