"New Girl" may have just given its viewers one of the most satisfying season enders in history with its Season 2 finale episode, "Elaine's Big Day." It had everything! A wedding -- and a relationship -- broke up in spectacular fashion. Jess and Nick kissed before riding off into the night. There was a huge guest star in Taylor Swift. A badger played a major role. What more could anyone want?Does this mean "Cotton Eyed Joe" is Jess and Nick's song?Who would have expected that a silly -- but catchy! -- song would be the thing that destroyed Cece's wedding but simultaneously cemented Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) as a couple? Because they are most definitely a couple now.It was touch-or-go for a bit, of course. Jess didn't want to have anything to do with an immature Nick who would play pranks to disrupt a wedding. And Nick got angry because Jess thought... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/05/new-girl-season-2-finale-cotton-eyed-joe-un-calling-jess-and-nick-and-a-badger-beat-the-wedding-in-e.html
Law school dropout. Drink-slinger. Zombie novelist. True American. Nick Miller is a lot of things, but "suave" certainly isn't one of them. Thankfully, that doesn't seem to matter much to love interest Jessica Day, who finally had a sleepover with her bumbling—albeit well-meaning—roommate. Tonight’s season finale of New Girl finds a special invitee at Cece’s wedding: Taylor Swift, who plays a guest named Elaine. (Will Elaine burst into “Speak Now” during the ceremony? We’re still betting on it! ) The reigning country-pop star, whose last onscreen role involved sucking face with Taylor Lautner for most of Valentine’s Day , descended on the sitcom’s Los Angeles set in late April to shoot her top-secret scene. Compared to his New Girl roommates, Winston Bishop was a relative mystery up until the show's second season. But now we know him for the weirdo he is: a guy who thinks he has a menstrual cycle and hatches outrageously bad schemes ( “We could break into a zoo, steal a bear, then we shoot the bear full of hep. C, we release that bear in the restaurant right as they’re about to order dessert … ” ). Are his roomies’ quirks rubbing off, or was Winston always this mad? We spoke to Lamorne Morris ahead of tonight’s finale about his character’s development, Jess and Schmidt's hookup, and wanting Rihanna to play his love interest. Ever since Nick ( Jake Johnson ) and Jess ( Zooey Deschanel ) kissed earlier this season, New Girl fans have been waiting for them to actually define their relationship. New Girl really came into its own this season . There are many reasons for this: more character (and character backstory) time, deepened relationships, payoff in the form of kissing. However, there might be no more important reason than the show going H.A.M. on physical comedy. Now, physical comedy isn't new — hell, it's been around since actors have had a stage to fall down on — but New Girl has really taken to it like Young Nick took to alcohol. So with the second season winding down tomorrow night, a look back seemed to be in order. You'll see Nick punch balloons and at least one roommate, Schmidt's failed head-butt and lap-dance, Winston freaking out, and more. But what will be No. 1?
