There may be hope for New Girl 's Nick and Jess on the horizon! The budding relationship between Jess ( Zooey Deschanel ) and roommate Nick ( Jake M. Johnson ) became as adorkable as the leading lady over the first season, and fanse began rooting for the pair to take their friendship to the next level. New Girl: David Walton Among Season 2 Guest Stars

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Fox's New Girl has added a couple of new faces for its upcoming second season, in addition to bringing back someone from season one. Most significantly, the show will be bringing Bent star David Walton on in a recurring role as a new love interest for Jess; his character, described as a "classic bad boy" will be introduced in the season premiere. The number of episodes his character will appear in is as yet unknown. Also making an appearance in the next season premiere of New Girl is Leslie Mann. Mann, most recently seen in a memorable Modern Family cameo, will be playing a woman hired to work at a party thrown by Schmidt for the removal of his penis cast. (I know.) Meanwhile, Rachael Harris will be making a return to New Girl for at least one more appearance as the vice-principal of Jess's school. She appeared in three episodes last season. Guest appearances on the last season of New Girl included Ryan Kwanten, Justin Long, Dermot Mulroney, Katie Cassidy, Natasha Lyonne, and Martin Starr. The second season of New Girl premieres Tuesday, September 25th at 9:00, with a special all new preview episode at 8:00. Season one will be available to stream on Yahoo TV beginning July 30th.
