Parks and Recreation: How the Cast Celebrated the Renewal News

Unlike its sister Thursday-night comedy shows  The Office  and  Community, Parks and Recreation  was wrapped on season three when they got the news they'd be getting a season four. So, the cast wasn't really all in one spot when the thumbs-up for renewal came through. Read on to hear from executive producer  Mike Schur  how his cast celebrated, and get a preview of tonight's "Camping" episode... "We're all absolutely thrilled that we get to make another season, but since we're not shooting right now, we all had to celebrate by ourselves," Schur tells us. " Nick Offerman  ate an entire cow.  Aziz Ansari  had a rap battle with  Drake , and won.  Rashida Jones  was so happy she spontaneously appeared on the covers of 100 magazines.  Rob Lowe  ran a three-minute mile.  Chris Pratt  wrote a song about how Nick ate an entire cow, and then he also ate an entire cow.  Aubrey Plaza  was so excited she nearly smiled.  Adam Scott  played a round of Russian Roulette with a group of athletic Finns in matching sweatsuits (he's into some weird stuff). And  Amy Poehler  celebrated by getting head-to-toe plastic surgery, and now looks like  Channing Tatum ." 'Community,' 'The Office' and 'Parks and Recreation' get another season [Updated]

We're pretty sure Stage 31 on the Paramount Lot where NBC's "Community" shoots is vibrating with excitement right now. Not only has their show been moved over to the renewed column on NBC's scheduling board, but "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation" move over, as well, to join its Thursday comedy block buddies."I am so pleased to renew these three outstanding comedies which are all at the top of their game creatively," says NBC Entertainment Chairman, Bob Greenblatt. "Along with '30 Rock,' they represent the best of what the NBC comedy brand stands for in terms of originality, wit, and sophistication.""Community," while garnering much critical acclaim, has had as star Yvette Nicole Brown called at PaleyFest recently, "a small, but mighty audience." With an average 4.7 million viewers overall, the show consistently does well in a time period that includes competition from Fox' "American Idol," CBS's "Big Bang Theory" and ABC's "Wipeout.""The Office" will go on without Steve Carell's Michael... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/community-the-office-and.html

'Parks and Recreation': Rashida Jones cuts loose

It's one thing to have someone break up with you. It's quite another to have someone break up with you -- and you don't realize it.That's where we find Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones) at the start of Thursday's (March 17) "Parks and Recreation." In the last episode, she and Chris (Rob Lowe) ended things, only she wasn't aware of it until about a week later -- even though everyone around her was. Ouch.So in Thursday's episode, "Harvest Festival," Ann decides to take things into her own hands. For one, she dyes a shock of her hair bright red. There are a few other things too, as Jones told Zap2it at PaleyFest last week: "She does kind of exercise her freedom as a single person, and she gets busy with some dudes," she says in the video above. "She definitely takes advantage of that."Is she trying to make Chris jealous, we wonder? "I don't think so,"... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/parks-and-recreation-rashida-jones-cuts-loose.html

'Parks and Recreation': Rob Lowe's not going anywhere, EP Mike Schur says

"Parks and Recreation" executive producer Mike Schur has a message for all of you wondering if Rob Lowe will move to "Two and a Half Men" next season:No. "That's what we in the television business call 'nonsense,'" Schur told Zap2it Wednesday night (March 9) before "Parks and Rec's" session at the Paley Center for Media's PaleyFest. "Rob is a full-time cast member; he's on the show for a number of more years, and that's the end of the story. Sorry I can't be juicier than that."Schur later told the PaleyFest crowd the same thing, saying that after Lowe's name was floated as a possible replacement for Sheen, "the Internet set it on fire." (Lowe, by the way, wasn't at Wednesday's event because he's visiting colleges with his son this week.)Further fuel to the Lowe/"Men" fire may come with next week's "Parks and Rec" episode, in which Lowe doesn't appear. But Schur says he'll be back... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/parks-and-recreation-rob-lowes-not-going-anywhere-ep-mike-schur-says.html

'Parks and Recreation': We'll always have Pawnee

Artist Mike Mitchell has created a "Casablanca"-esque poster for "Parks and Recreation's" night at the Paley Festival on Wednesday (March 9), and we want one. Badly.Mitchell -- who also designed the "I'm with Coco" poster that Conan O'Brien fans and eventually O'Brien himself adopted -- made the homage to "Casablanca" (you can see the original here) with Amy Poehler in Ingrid Bergman's spot and Nick Offerman as Humphrey Bogart. Works for us. Gallery 1988 is selling the posters (there are also images for the "Freaks and Geeks"/"Undeclared" reunion, "True Blood," "The Walking Dead," "Eastbound and Down," and there will be one for "Glee" as well) at the PaleyFest events in Los Angeles this week. Any remaining prints will be available for purchase online.Pretty cool, right?(Thanks to /Film for bringing the posters to our attention.)... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/parks-and-recreation-well-always-have-pawnee.html

'Parks and Recreation' Co-Creator Talks Leslie, Ron, Tammy's Return and All Things Pawnee

Savor Thursday's 'Parks and Recreation' outing, because after that episode, which has the gang traveling to Indianapolis, the show will be on a break until March 17. That's the bad news, but the good news is there's lots of Pawnee enjoyment to come this spring. The March 17 'Harvest Festival' episode exemplifies the warm spirit, sharp writing and terrific acting that define this sterling NBC comedy about parks bureaucrat Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and her goofy, amusing co-workers.
