'Parks and Recreation': Patricia Clarkson Debuts As Ron Swanson's Ex (Video)

If viewers thought Tammy II ( Megan Mullally ) was scary with her aggressive sexual advances and manipulating ways, they will not know what hit them when Tammy I appears in the new season of Parks and Recreation. A new promo for the NBC comedy introduces Tammy I, played by  Patricia Clarkson . As the first ex-wife of Ron Swanson ( Nick Offerman ), she returns to Pawnee, and messes with Ron’s head. "Tammy One and Tammy Two could not be anymore different," Offerman says. "Tammy Two, played by my wife Megan is a raging hellcat who uses her sexual wiles to control Ron." 'Parks and Recreation' bosses talk Patricia Clarkson, Ron's breakout status and ... ballet

When people are creating fake ice-cream flavors in your honor and using your likeness to sell pork products, it's safe to say that you've got some fans. So it goes with Ron Swanson, who, as played by Nick Offerman, has achieved cult-hero status on "Parks and Recreation." Despite fans' embrace of Ron's mustache, love of meat and general manliness, though, co-creator Mike Schur says he's never felt pressure from NBC to make the show more Ron-centric."With Ron or any other character, they've never once said to me, 'Go more in that direction. Do more of this and less of that,'" Schur tells Zap2it. "... They love Ron like we do, and they love [all the characters on 'Parks and Rec']. ... In the early going, maybe Tom [Aziz Ansari] was breaking out, because Aziz is such a spark plug and has so much charisma, but they never said to chase that, to make it the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/08/parks-and-recreation-bosses-talk-patricia-clarkson-rons-breakout-status-and-ballet.html

Interview: 'Parks and Recreation' co-star Nick Offerman

I've written before about how the nightly parties at press tour are this weird hybrid beast that's half-party, half-working event and not entirely conducive to either thing. Some of the venues are so crowded, dark and/or noisy that it's difficult to find people you might want to interview, and even harder to hear them if you do. NBC's shindig at this summer's tour - a party that featured talent not only from the broadcast network, but Bravo, Syfy, E! and most of the other channels in the new Comcast empire, and that took place in the very strange space that is The Bazaar at the SLS Hotel - was particularly tough to navigate.  Read More... http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan-watching/posts/interview-parks-and-recreation-co-star-nick-offerman

'Parks and Recreation': The very best of Andy Dwyer

The stereotypical sitcom dumb guy is something of a rarity these days. But fortunately, we still have Andy Dwyer.Andy (Chris Pratt) is clearly not the brightest bulb in the "Parks and Recreation" chandelier, but he's become so darn lovable over the course of the show's three seasons (he didn't exactly start out that way) that it hardly matters. You may shake your head at the guy, but it's awfully hard to stay mad at him.As part of the show's summer video series, NBC has compiled some of his best/goofiest moments from Season 3. Come for "what makes the sauce so awesome," and stay for "You know who should wear these? Monkeys!"We're also happy to report that the season premiere of "Parks and Rec" is now less than five weeks away -- it debuts at 8:30 p.m. ET Thursday, Sept. 22.Enjoy the video:... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/08/parks-and-recreation-the-very-best-of-andy-dwyer.html

'Parks and Recreation': Meet the original Tammy -- what did she do to Ron?

"Parks and Recreation" will bring us not just one, but two more of the women in Ron Swanson's life this fall. And yes, the latest one is also named Tammy.Paula Pell, a long-time "Saturday Night Live" writer and sometime actress (she's played Scott Adsit's wife on "30 Rock" several times), will guest-star as the ur-Tammy in an early episode this season. We're also meeting Ron's (Nick Offerman) first wife Tammy (Patricia Clarkson) in the season's second episode and will likely get a return appearance by Tammy 2 (Megan Mullally) as well.So what qualities should Ma Swanson possess? (Aside from a good amount of time in the makeup chair; Pell and Offerman are pretty close in age in real life.)It sounds as if "Parks and Rec" is taking the apple-doesn't-fall-far-from-the-tree approach, based on a character description from TV Guide. That means Ron has come by his love of breakfast food, woodworking and distaste for government honestly,... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/08/parks-and-recreation-meet-the-original-tammy----what-did-she-do-to-ron.html

'Parks and Recreation': Showrunner Michael Schur on Leslie's decision, Patricia Clarkson and more

As Zap2it began a conversation with "Parks and Recreation" co-creator Michael Schur Monday night (Aug. 1), one of his stars, Aziz Ansari, pulled out a digital recorder too to ask if, in fact, it's true that Michael Clarke Duncan will guest-star as Tom's new love interest this season. It's not -- but it did lead to Schur revealing to us this most minor of spoilers: You'll see former NBA player Detlef Schrempf in at least one episode this season as we check in with Entertainment 720, Tom's new business venture with Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz). We also talked about a lot more, including what Schur's excited about so far, the decision facing Leslie (Amy Poehler) and the casting of Patricia Clarkson as Tammy I. Zap2it: When we talked recently, you said the actress playing Tammy I "can't be a diminutive, blonde-haired lady, probably." Yet you cast Patricia Clarkson.Michael Schur: We were in negotiations and looking at pictures... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/08/parks-and-recreation-showrunner-michael-schur-on-leslies-decision-patricia-clarkson-and-more.html

'Parks and Recreation': The very best of Jean-Ralphio

Co-owner of Pawnee, Indiana's, Snakehole Lounge and BFF to "Parks and Recreation's" Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari), Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz) is a brilliant fool. He got rich the old-fashioned way: He got run over by a Lexus. He's a ladykiller: Even Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) wants him to dance up on her. And he's full of amazing ideas: just ask him about his game-show concept. Or, watch this video -- a clip reel of Jean-Ralphio's best moments. This dude is going places. One day he's going to be a billionaire in Costa Rica, eating dolphins and hanging out with lady singers.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/07/parks-and-recreation-the-very-best-of-jean-ralphio.html
