What Sarah Jessica Parker Has to Say on 'Sex and the City' Sequel

Having been confirmed to have made a deal with New Line Cinema for "Sex and the City 2", Sarah Jessica Parker opens up about how she thinks the sequel of "Sex and the City" will be like. To Billy Bush of "The Billy Bush Show", the 43-year-old uncovered, "I think we want this one to be a romp."

"The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it and this time, I think we want a romp," Parker added further. "We want our audience to have a massive romp." The actress who plays Carrie Bradshaw in both the "SATC" TV series and the feature film version also revealed that she and executive producer Michael Patrick King are working to figure out how to bring the "romp" amidst the current economic situation.

"How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way? How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels?" she stated. "There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges. I'm glad they're not mine, they're really Michael Patrick's, but we certainly have conversations about them."

Despite being so open about the sequel, the four-time Golden Globes-recipient refused to give hint on what could possibly happen between Carrie and Big, the latter is portrayed by Chris Noth. "In a million years I'm not going to give you an indication," the "Failure to Launch" actress insisted, adding, "I want someone to show up that first weekend."

After months of speculations, in early February, "Sex and the City 2" got thumbs up. The confirmation came when New Line Cinema spokeswoman Candice McDonough announced that the four main actresses of the romantic comedy movie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, have agreed to return for a follow-up film and writer-director Michael Patrick King has also signed a contract to pen the script for the sequel.
