Director George Miller reportedly is gearing up to revive the "Mad Max" series in Sydney, Australia through "Mad Max 4". According to The Daily Telegraph, the Academy Award-winning filmmaker has begun scouting for locations to be used in the filming of the action thriller's fourth film.
The 64-year-old reportedly has also approached specialized technicians for the development of this movie. Rumor has it that this man behind animated feature "Happy Feet" planned to start the production of "Mad Max 4" as early as the later part of this year
While it is still unclear whether he himself will return to the director seat for this project, Miller has stated earlier that he intended to cast a younger actor to replace series star Mel Gibson. About it, he reasoned, "It won't be Mel. He was 21 when he made the first one, now he's a lot older and his passion is for filmmaking and directing. I don't think he is into acting and I don't think he would be interested in being involved at all."
"Mad Max 4" is said to be taking the script from "Mad Max 4: Fury Road", which was set to shoot in 2003 before it was shelved in the wake of the Iraq War. This movie will be developed along with a tie-in video game which will be based on the same basic storyline. Previously, it was suggested that this movie will be developed as a stereoscopic anime movie.
