Boston is apparently full of talented dancers and Nigel Lythgoe was right in noting that So You Think You Can Dance could have easily had more than an hour long show dedicated to Bean Town ballroom-ers and breakers. Unfortunately, So You Think You Can Dance almost ruined all my positive feelings about Boston and their audition shows with the inclusion of the spandex-clad "dancer" Paul Magliato.
Part of what I love about So You Think You Can Dance is the respect it shows to dancers and how it largely chooses to showcase talent instead of train wrecks during the auditions. (In contrast to say, American Idol.) Of course, there are exceptions to SYTYCD's respectfulness: the repeat appearances of SEX and montage clips of particularly tragic auditions.
