This summer, Fox will make use of the time slot to premiere the new seasons of its reality shows. Apart from the return of "Hell's Kitchen", the network also lines up "So You Think You Can Dance" to replace "American Idol" on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
"Dance", which is accommodated to provide competition to ABC's "Dancing with the Stars", will return for a fifth season on Thursday, May 21, the night after "Idol" crowns its winner. The dancing show will air two-hour special on both the premiere and on Wednesday, May 27. It will take regular slots at 9/8c on Wednesdays for two hours of performance and Thursdays for a one-hour result show.
On May 22, "Don't Forget the Lyrics" which is hosted by Wayne Brady, will be back at 8/7c. It is paired with a new medical drama called "Mental", where an unorthodox doctor Jack Gallagher (Chris Vance) battles with his conservative boss (Annabella Sciorra).
Additionally, game show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" will take over on Friday, July 3 at 8/7c followed by the two-hour season premiere of "Hell's Kitchen" on Tuesday, July 21 at 8/7c. The cooking competition will air regularly on Tuesdays at 8/7c.
On August 10, the network will telecast Teen Choice Awards.
