House: Might Amber Come Back? (Don't Worry, No Ghost Sex) - Featured

EW is reporting exclusively that House producers loved Anne Dudek's character of Amber/Cutthroat Bitch so much that they are looking for ways to bring her back to the show. They have engaged in preliminary talks with the actress for an appearance to occur later this season.

However, the show has promised that they will only bring Amber back if they can create the proper storyline. Taking a stab at Grey's Anatomy, they commented: "if we could figure out a way to bring her back that is not a ghost sex plot, we'd be thrilled to do it and have her back."

So...would you like to see Amber back on House? How do you think they could pull that off?

Agreed! I could see her showing up in dreams and having some interesting meaning for House or Wilson, but unless there's a very compelling reason, I'd rather not see her back - but I trust the House people to know what's good and what's not, as we can see from their proclamation to avoid Grey's ridiculousness, so if they bring her back, I'll be very interested in the how and why.

I think that maybe Wilson should have a mental illness, and start hearing and/or hearing her. I know we all love wilson. He's everybody's best friend, but that would make it better because all the characters would become involved.

No I honestly hated her character but her death was an amazing story line and those two episodes dealing with it rocked and leave it at that!

Personally cant see how they'd do it convincingly... perhaps the Wilson has a mental illness plot line would work but thats the only way really - Amber talking to house when his head was messed out and he was trying to figure out stuff at the end of season 4 but lets face it. She's dead. And House isnt THAT good a doctor... and despite what he might want he is not God.

They have been able to make 'fill in' stories in the past, for example, stories of smaller cases that happened that really weren't part of the show, like for example in the episode where House explained how he lost use of his leg. They could bring her back as long as they keep her in the past, but not some how relieve the fact that she did die. That story of and on its own was great, I think. Her character was only really good near the end, honestly she wasn't that great when she was only a candidate. The chemistry that worked before her departure was that she truely challenged House, as well as cause conflict between eveyone else. I think with the writing of House, that sort of profile can be re-created, and if anything, I'm sure there are already a handfull of other people that they can really bring back with out reaverting to a 'suprise, yeah, she wasn't dead,'. In retrospect, Amber's body was never 100% recognized, so they can copout on a 'well, actually...' storyline. One of the best aspects of this show is in the fact that if forces the characters to accept the shortcomings of medical failures, and forces them to grow and move forward. I hope the writers don't end up with that copout simply becaue they can do better. I fear where the writers might go, as they did end up using Lupus as a medical condition, failing to continue the long running 'gag'. So... I'll guess we'll see where this ends up going.

Hmm i think if they put amber back maysome some kind of sickness that House has and he starts to alucinate again ^^ that woulndt be bad if they can explore better that idea.

I loved her story line but once a character is gone for the most part she should stay gone. A cameo once in a while is OK but to bring the character back totally is dumb.

Having watched the last episode of Grey's Anatomy, Izzie is seeing Denny (the ghost) because she's ill, so if they did that with Wilson, which to be honest is probably the only way to bring her back, then they would just be ripping off the same plot.

i just hope if they do bring her back, shes not ethereal, you know, all sense-y feel-y "im here to reveal deep inner truth" or some BS. i liked her character as a cutthroat-bitch, so if they bring her back, she better be really her. kinda hard for the deceased to have ruthless ambition though, so its 'prolly not gonna happen. figure the closest they could come is House arguing with himself through a figment of his mind like the episode where he got shot.
hey, if they do end up doing that, remember i called it

you people are so susperstitious and so lacking of imagination! What they should do is reveal that Amber has a twin! If they're twins, they're technically the same person! The twin's name is gonna be Sapphire. And she's gonna be a lot more bitchier than her sister, with good reason - she's blaming House, Wilson, and the whole plainsborough hospital for the death of her sister. For sure there's gonna be lotsa twists and turns with that but it will be discovered that she's just using her sister's death as a guilt trip ploy to advance her own ambitions since she's also a doctor! But in the end...she's gonna fall in love with Kutner and becomes a mainstay in House's crew so all is good!

I loved her character because she didn't take no stuff from no one especially house....but they shouldn't bring her back as the character before because yes she was amazing but so was her death's story line so i think they should leave that character alone..

I don't really hate her but I just didn't like her character. I can understand her coming back if we see her in someone's dream or if someone goes into a coma they see her (like House did on her final debut). But I really can't see her coming back for a real long amount of time. I just hope the people at House know what they are doing when they decide.

Yes, I agree with 'sloz' .... TWIN SISTER. Also, I think they need to rekindle the Love/Hate relationship between Wilson & House ..... it has not been as prominent this series and it does give the show an edge.

I think it would ruin the story. Right now everyone has move on. There is no way to bring her back without doing something stupid like Amber's Twin sister. Once you kill a character, the character should stay dead, unless it's a science fiction show and the characters is Lenard Nimoy.

this isn't battlestar galactica, you can't bring back a character from the dead just because you feel like it

the death of amber was one of the best house episodes, please don't make this show as cheesy as grey's. you like the actress? put her on another show on the same network and see if those ratings go up. house is one of the most popular shows on tv, it doesn't need CB back, don't ruin it!!!

I have to agree. I think the only way it will work is a cameo or single episode appearance set in the past to provide some sort of backstory. Perhaps to give Wilson's character some more life.
Failing that, they should leave well enough alone. It was a great exit. Why ruin it?
