Smallville: Will Chloe Be the Next to Go?

Smallville is kind of falling to pieces these days.

Kristin Kreuk is coming back for only a few episodes and Michael Rosenbaum is done.

Unfortunately, though, things might not be ending here. Though Allison Mack (Chloe) was rumored to be coming back, she still had not (and has not) signed a new contract. Furthermore, it seems that with all of the other characters leaving, she wants more $$ (she kind of deserves it, no?) and thus far no agreement has been reached.

As one source points out, "They need Chloe now more than ever - and Allison's people know it."

Let's hope something gets worked out, as Season 8 of Smallville is looking more pathetic with each passing day...

When does Season 8 of Smallville premiere? And Does anyone know what the plot of season 8 will be as I think the main story line should end by the season 7 finale.
Also its a shame to see Michael leave, but I'm rather glad Kristen is leaving since I'm tired of her on and offs with Clark.

Although I do not really like the Lex character [an opinion which puts me in the minority], but it is hard to imagine an entire season without his character appearing even a couple of times - especially with papa Luthor out of the picture as well.
I think everyone is in agreement that phasing Lana out is for the best - she has had her run - her importance was mainly in the first few seasons - it's time for her to make an exit.
Year after year, Chloe has upped her game. In many episodes you could say she stole the spotlight from the other series regulars. If Chloe must make an exit, I hope that it is not until closer to the end of season 8, and not near the start.
There are rumors about who the two new villains of the show will be. If handled correctly I believe that season 8 will be the best of them all - despite losing so many series regulars.
Though I am hoping to see some return visits from Perry White and Martha Kent. Guess we'll see what happens in September!

It doesn't matter who is leaving, i'm just hoping for more of Clark and Lois's thing. I think they are so cute together, they just have this vibe! Sexy! I'm am sooo glad Lana is not in much of the next season! She is getting very annoying, she cries in every episode, i don't think there has been an episode without her sobbing! Lex is key in this story, sad to see him not come back!

I have enjoyed Lana to no end but honestly it was a long time coming to see her make her way out.But I can't wait to see the new villians because I have heard Doomsday and Darkside as possible villains but hey as long as my girl Lois is there thats all I am about.
I am hoping though to see some visits from main characters from the comics and other heroes as well Superman isn't super without friends and enemies.

Allison may be leaving but lets hope not. As cheesy as some of the lines her character is given are, she is playing quite an important role in the show, being clark's only remaining friend, and even if they do include lois as a love interest, everyone needs a sidekick with A-Grade hacking skills!

well, i dunno, i think Chloe leaving isnt so much of a bad thing.Yes, she did bring alot to the program, but when you look at the big picture, well, she isnt in the films ,so thats one thing, lol.its unfortunate about Lex leaving, he will be a big loss, but im guessing there will be another character to take his place, and im sure wewill grow to lkike that new person. before we start to bash the next series and say how crap its gonna be, i think we should wait a few minutes and see what the creators add to it

well guys i agree with most of the things u said but honestly lets think about it for a sec .. its time for clark to start dealing with his problems , he always thinks about not doing any damage or trying to keep a low profile .. from my point of view, we need to see him in action getting at lest more into the superman character and lana lang sorry but honestly im happy that u are leaving comic fans are happy about that because maybe its lous and clark time now..... one other thing im not very sure if anyone else agrees but this few chapters clark seems to be afraid of doing anything come on he is going to be SUPERMAN stop making him look like a little child afraid of all

Well I can imagine the season without Michael Rosenbaum. I think he does such a wonderful job. It will be very weird without him. I hate the thought of anyone leaving the show. I like Kristin's character, even though no one really does. I know that he is suppose to end up with Lois, but I don't think that everyone should lose their job just because of the "rules" of following the comics. I like Chole's character, I think Allison and Kristin do wonderful jobs. So I don't like reading that people are leaving makes me sad. I have been a loyal fan from the beginning! By the way how does Clark totally love Lana, and then the next season totally love Lois, doesn't make sense to me!!!! I wish all of them the best!

well obviously shes out fore sure theres no possibility of her staying shes has no plot in the superman story period, you all know that so shes cut ,probably gonna end up just like all the other charecters leaving and only doing a few episodes, in the end its gonna probably (jimmy,Lois,Clark and hay maybe perry white might jump in to the story some where along the way ,i still watch the show but the random quest of this and that are pointless just let season eight finish with the boy in blue please if you wanna end the show right ,your loyal fan since the pilot tony lates....

I don't know what they guys at TV Guide could be thinking, but Smallville certainly isn't falling apart, and Season 8's looking better than ever. The last couple of episodes have finally put the plot straight on track to where it should be going. The only problems I see for the coming season will be possible character juggles.
I, for one, am all against Chloe's character leaving. As others have said, I believe she's necessary for the show. She, Clark, and Lex are the only characters who really matter at this point. Of course Lex is leaving, but eventually his character will have to return. He'll just be taking a break so he can go off and become the evil genius that the classic Lex Luthor is known for. As for Lois, it's true that she and Clark will eventually have a romance plot going on, but that doesn't happen until way later, when CK's a full-fledged reporter for the Daily Planet. There's no reason to push that love plot any time soon.
Season 8's looking to be the best season ever--the climax of everything we've seen so far. Let's just hope that the people in charge don't drop the ball.

In my oppinion this season rocks! clark and chloe make a gr8 team and its good to see them getting closer to dicovering what ck is all about, thro lois and kara and jimmy into a few more episodes and you got a whole new plot line, to much talk is going on about this whole this didnt happen in superman we ya know what? this aint superman, this is smallville, yeah ck will go onto become superman, but now we are geting to see how that happens, i say bring on season 8, even with out lana or lex i am sure that it will have a great finale.

i LOVE lana. she has been one of my fave charachters since the beg. and i love her with clark. i am so sad to see her go. My favorite character is chloe, though, so if she leaves, next season will be a total bust for me.

I agree with tutorgirl99. I LOVE Lana Lang so so much in this show. It's not just because she's beautiful and the presence that she has with every character in every episode but because i totally want her and clark together. i'm not a big fan of lois but i know that clark and her are going to end yo together no matter what.
does anyone know if tom welling is going to go on and actually become superman? i hope so... i realllly don't want this show to end.
as for lex luthor and chloe sullivan... call me old fashioned but i don't want any of the characters to leave. i am okay with lex leaving to an extent because i think we're ready for a new good vs evil balance in clark's world but i also agree that clark really needs to find himself in all of this. he's so wound up in never killing anyone and looking for the good in all people, but i still think he needs to meet with jor-el and i would like to see him confront lex once and for all.
god i'm sooooo excited about the 8th season, i don't want to wait!!also, how many more episodes until the season's over?

I agree with sincerleysonya . I can live with no lana thou. Cloe should stay around thou. I really want to know if they are going to do a movie with Wellings being superman. I think if they cont. smallville as something like the advangers of superman or something like that it would be really cool. Smallville is to good and popular to end i think

Michael Rosenbaum is easily the best actor on that show, and losing him will be a big hit, I dont think there will be enough good vs. evil attraction anymore to the series. The most they can do is bring some super powerful being, which is no fun since Lex had no powers and still one-upped clark at times bein a normal (kinda) person, which was the main selling point.Allison Mack will just take more charm out of that show, no good.

uhhh so is clark just going to be by his lonesome self? why don't the producers, instead of going forward with another season that looks like its going to suck, just make a three hour long t.v. movie that just ties everything up and has clark moving to metropolis and starting his new life there?

Clark kent is a character who has an incredile sense of dignity, honour, and a sense of righteousness about him. Welling portrays this, but it will not be the same without Rosenbaum. He definately beats Spacey hands down in the latest few episodes of season 7, so its a shame he is going. People, season 8: Clarkie needs to start flying, its getting quite annoying now...i mean come on! Secondly, I think Jorel needs to say 'kalel, I have been keeping something for you, it is a symbol of your Kryptonian heritage. I have given it to the mortal, Virgil Swan.'...that leads Clark to, Swan's house. Pics of Chris Reeve with Dana Reeve dotted everywhere...then a kryptonian symbol, Clark presses it...slow and dramatic revelation of: Chris Reeves' Superman costume. now HOW amazing would that be? it would follow the whole Reeves handing down the mantel thing...and would give him a final and most important tribute. What do people think?

i guess its fate will depend on who comes in to replace the departing characters for season 8. im guessing the members of the justice league will make more appearances, maybe with a couple of them sticking around.but for sure, its gotta be something special to keep viewers watching after losing a few key members of the cast

I had heard that there was no intention to have a season 8 and that they had always planned to end it at 7...did they change their minds or something?
