After playing house with Hugh Hefner, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Kendra Wilkinson will bid farewell to the lavish Playboy lifestyle they have been accustomed to for five years. Season 5, which premiered on October 5, 2008, kicked off with the special celebration of Hefner's 82nd birthday at the Playboy Club in the Palms Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, and subsequently featured adventures in New York, Mardi Gras at New Orleans, snowboarding in Aspen, the search for the 55th anniversary Playmate, and some under water activities. Tonight, however, it will all come to a close as Kendra makes a decision that surprises her family and friends in the fifth season finale of The Girls Next Door.
Transitions, the two-part one-hour episode of The Girls Next Door, follows 23-year-old Kendra as she begins the next phase of her life and career by revealing to her friends and family that she has decided to move out of the Playboy mansion and find her own place.
This marks the final episode of Holly, Bridget and Kendra on The Girls Next Door. Of course, we all know their reasons for leaving the series. Kendra has decided to marry football player Hank Baskett in June, Bridget has her own travel show and is currently dating director Nicholas Carpenter, while Holly has moved on with magician Criss Angel only to split up with him after four months of dating.
"[Holly] has so much love to give someone," Wilkinson told People of Holly's split with Angel. "I hope that she finds someone to giver her that love back. I hope she stays happy and strong and I hope she finds someone that loves her for who she is - for her heart."
Meanwhile, fans of the reality series may be mourning the finale but Hefner doesn't seem too broken up about it. In fact, he'll be back on the next season of The Girls Next Door with yet another bunch of young women.
