The Return of Dr. Burke...

...in picture form.

If you have seen the previews for tonight's new episode of Grey's Anatomy then you will have seen Christina getting all upset upon seeing a newspaper article about Dr. Burke receiving some kind of prestigious award.

Isaiah Washington's representatives have commented that he was "more than a little surprised that ABC used his likeness in a promo... and indeed advanced his character's storyline." By surprised, they mean pissed off, as the representative also commented that, "Mr. Washington's attorney has contacted the Screen Actors Guild and ABC as to the appropriateness of that action."

I get that Washington is still annoyed about the whole being fired thing, but I honestly don't think that complaining about this will at all help his image.

Thoughts?

I know! Has he even been anywhere?! You can't diss gay people in Hollywood, a-hole. He should just chill out and be happy that no one vomitted on his homophobic face!

Since Grey's clearly has the rights to his character, Dr. Burke, the coincidence is just uncanny! Isaiah needs to look again, because I'm fairly certain it's BURKE'S likeness that has been used!
As far as I'm concerned... Isaiah who??

What I really hate about the whole Dr. Burke thing is that they've made him villian since Isaiah left the show. Isaiah made one really inappropriate comment and now he's a black sheep. So many famous people have made mistakes and they get a second chance. Some of the most famous and respected rappers such as Eminem have said the forbidden "F word" And Jay Leno makes fun of gays on practically a nightly basis. Why aren't they being ostracized? We should be much more enraged about the light prison sentences given to pedophiles.

Did anybody else find it ironic that the story alongside Burke's was two gay lovers?

haha, lauraclay...very funny!@BlueJeans - The thing is...it was more than once. Then, after everything had cooled down and blowed over, he made that very awkward statement in public after the Emmys. I wouldn't quite say that he's a black sheep...he has gotten multiple jobs since (Bionic Woman, movies), so perhaps just among the Grey's cast.I agree that you should not lose your career over a single mistake, especially if you take the proper steps to correct it (and it seems that he has; he has apologized, filmed PSAs, etc.), but I actually do applaud Grey's for not accepting that kind of behavior. There certainly are other things to be enraged about as well, but we have to start somewhere...

I can't honestly say I miss Burke. Is that wrong? He was great, but I kind of like that his disappearance forced Derek and Sloan to communicate again. Plus, I think I had quite enough of Christina's battle accepting love. I like her as just flat out cranky!!
But he should chill out about his likeness. I think it's nice that they even still acknowledge his character. It's a tribute in a sense.

How can Isaiah Washington be annoyed that they continued his characters story line? I mean They can hardly expect us to belive that Burk would just fade away - he was supposed to be the best cardio surgeon. And what about Christina? Shes hardly just going to drop the whole left at the alter thing and never mention it again!

Not trying to be racist, but i wonder how many white people had to take counseling back in the days for the way they treated blacks. Isaiah makes a comments about homosexuality and now is being treated this way. Why should the guy lower his standard to make room for something he does not believe in. While i don't approve with his comments, on an humanity level, i can't say i totally disagree. If homosexuality was anything good they would not have to take offense to this degree. It is wrong plain and simple. Nothing will make it right, not even cute words. Give Isaiah another chance, he is just human. Love T.R.Knight, hope you find the right way someday. Totally agree with Kayla poo. Loved Isaiah in grey's and how he put up with christina for so long is beyond me. (love christina) aint homophobic but I don't think homosexuality is natural either, he shouldn't have called anyone names though. Miss him immensely.
Hope all the cast members continue to do well, during and after the show.

I really like the couple-Burke and Cristina in GA. Isaiah Washington had shaped the character Dr.Preston Burke succefully. In that case, I can understand what Isaiah Washington annoyed is right. I think all the characters in GA's new season can disguss and talk about the person-Burke, but they had better not to post his image on any bulletins or boards.
