Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad have joined the cast of Saturday Night Live, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
According to The Comic's Comic, who first reported the castings, Slate is Columbia University graduate who has performed in weekly comedy showcases at New York City's UCB Theater. She also wrote a one-woman show called Dead Millionaire and has appeared in sketches on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Pedrad, a native of Tehran, Iran, is a UCLA graduate who has worked with L.A.'s Groundlings comedy troupe. She presented a one-woman show, Me, Myself & Iran, at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival in 2007 and has appeared as a nurse on several episodes of ER.
Both women will reportedly join the cast when SNL returns for its 35th season premiere on Sept. 26. NBC declined to confirm the castings.
