'Predators' Scouted Jungles of Hawaii

The filming of "Predators" may not only be taking place at producer Robert Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas, but also in the jungles of Hawaii. Tim Ryan of Reel Hawaii recently reported that "scouts for 20th Century Fox's $40-million creature feature are back on the Big Island for their third week of scouting Hawaii most of it where a lot of jungles have been looked at."

Ryan furthermore unraveled that should the Hawaii filming get green light, the filming will be done in 18 days, starting sometime in October. Adding more to the speculation, he wrote, "That decision is expected to be made very soon...Some Hawaii production execs are being contacted about availability..."

Back in mid-August, it was reported that the new extraterrestrial thriller film will begin shooting in late September and will make use of Rodriguez's studio for the shooting. "Nimrod Antal is scheduled to being filming on Fox's reboot of 'Predators,' on Sept 28th at Robert Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios in Austin," Production Weekly tweeted at the time.

To be directed by "Vacancy" helmer Nimrod Antal, "Predators" is said to offer "a bold new chapter in the Predator universe". The story allegedly will deal with a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors that are not always from outside their group. 20th Century Fox eyes to release the film on July 7, 2010.
