The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub is rapidly becoming the most controversial cast member of Bravo's Real Housewives franchise. Apparently, she's been arrested in 1986 on charges of extortion, kidnapping and drug possession and has been involved in a disgraceful scheme to bleed money out of the rich father of a young man from Buffalo who owed money to her former drug-dealing boyfriend. While more and more people are taking a stab at Danielle as her naughty past continues to hunt her, her counter part Kelly Bensimon, arguably the most hated member of The Real Housewives of New York, seemingly has Danielle's back.
Kelly has urged people to give Danielle a second chance during the Gracie Awards in New York City where she weighed in on the controversies surrounding Danielle's life.
"Everybody deserves a second chance," Kelly said. "If you've made a mistake in life, you have two choices, you can either sit in the Lazy-Boy and eat popcorn and talk about it, or you can get out and do something fun. And I think that's what she's doing. I like her courage."
Kelly, seemingly the odd woman out on The Real Housewives of New York, has also revealed her partiality towards The Real Housewives of New Jersey as compared to her current show, which she is rumored to be leaving.
"I haven't met them [The Real Housewives of New Jersey], but I'd love to! I wish they would do a crossover because I love these other women so much, and I'd much rather hang out with them," Kelly said.
While Kelly isn't afraid to show her support for Danielle, the Countess, as usual, was not shy about condemning Danielle's shady past.
"I think if I had that kind of a past, an arrest, if I had any skeletons in my closet, I don't think I'd be on a reality show," Real Housewives of New York star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps said.
