Character actor Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore) has scored a recurring role in David E. Kelley's upcoming NBC legal drama HARRY'S LAW, according to Entertainment Weekly. He will play an attention-seeking and fast-talking attorney and potential rival for Nate Corddry's character, Adam. McDonald will first appear in the show's second episode when he and Adam are on opposite sides of a case involving the legality of China's one child per family policy.
Harry's Law focuses on Harriet Korn (Kathy Bates), a patent lawyer who starts up a new and unconventional law firm after being fired. It also stars Brittany Snow and Aml Ameen, with Corddry replacing Ben Chaplin, who appeared in the pilot. It is expected to premiere at midseason.
