Cheers to Disney Channel for wishing upon another teen star: Bridgit Mendler.
You may not know her name yet, but your kids do: She stars in Good Luck Charlie, TV's top-rated tween series, which the cable net has just picked up for a second season and an original movie. The 17-year-old Washington, D.C. native - who's like a younger, likable Katherine Heigl - stars as Teddy Duncan, a teen who helps raise her titular baby sister.
Mendler's been brought up through the Disney Channel ranks, guest-starring on Jonas as well as sinking her teeth into a recurring role as David Henrie's vampire girlfriend on The Wizards of Waverly Place. With Wizards' Selena Gomez hitting the big screen in Ramona and Beezus and Miley Cyrus wrapping up her Hannah Montana stint, Mendler (who also sings Charlie's theme song) is well-positioned to become Disney Channel's new princess.
