Mischa Barton is "doing great" following her hospitalization, and is expected to join the cast of her new CW series soon, says Ashton Kutcher, the show's executive producer.
"I can tell you right now Mischa Barton is doing great," Kutcher said at a technology conference, according to the Associated Press.
The Beautiful Life: TBL stars Barton as one of several cohabiting models.
Barton's rep, Craig Schneider, told TVGuide.com the actress has "intention" of returning to work. "She was released early last week and has been improving since with the intention of resuming production with the rest of the cast," he said.
Barton, 23, was hospitalized after Los Angeles police responded to a non-911 call to her house on July 8. The actress' publicist would not comment at the time on an Access Hollywood report that she has been placed under involuntary psychiatric hold.
Last week, The CW delayed the start of production on Beautiful Life until July 31, citing unprepared sets as the reason.
Kutcher said Barton will fly to New York to start filming soon. The Beautiful Life premieres Wednesday, Sept. 16.
