Fringe Renewed For Season 3 - Featured

Fringe has been renewed for a third season, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

The sci-fi series, executive produced by J.J. Abrams, has struggled ratings-wise in its second season after moving from Tuesdays at 9/8c to the competitive Thursday at 9/8c timeslot.

Fringe has averaged 7.6 million viewers this season, compared to an average of 9.96 million viewers in its first year. The most recent episode on Feb. 4 attracted 7.76 million viewers and a 2.8 rating in the adults age 18-49 demo. However, the series has played well on DVR. The Feb. 4 episode surged 36 percent in the demo from DVR viewings.

The series' renewal was first reported by EW.

Fringe will return with new episodes on April 1.

Awesome news. It would have been so disappointing if they had of canceled it. It is the best show on tv imo and there is so much more to tell. Can't wait for the rest of this season and bring on season 3.

If they cancel fringe, they make themselves some enemies...
first this 12-eps/22eps/20eps/21eps-chaos in season1...constantly having interruptions of 2 or more weeks between episodes.moving to a more difficult timeslot...
if that's not the fault of the station, i don't know....and fringe still does better than some series with better starting-conditions...

A show that should be watched by all. A better version of the old x-files with comedy. Whats not to love.

YES! So worried they were going to get cancelled. Fringe is the best show on tv now hands down. At least out of the shows I watch (lost, heroes, chuck, 30 rock, the office, house, and lie to me).
