Recap Dawson's Creek: Season 5, Episode 4 - The Long Goodbye


A couple runs to the fish house only to find a sign that says "Closed: Death in the Family."

A montage of Dawson in the house cleaning, caring for Lily... being "strong."

The opening credits roll accompanied by a gentle piano version of the theme song.

Dawson picks out a casket at the funeral home.

In Boston, Joey finds Pacey and tells him about Mitch's death. He's not sure that he should go. She convinces him.

Back in Capeside at the Potter B&B, Jen confides to Jack that she's nervous to see Dawson. She doesn't know what to say to him. Jack tells her she wouldn't believe some of the things that people said to him when Tim died. She just has to figure out how to be there for Dawson in her own way.

Back at Dawson's, he puts Lily down to sleep and puts a quilt over a sleeping Gale.

Dawson goes into his room and relives his 12th birthday with Mitch when he got his first camera and promised that filmmaking wasn't a phase.
