The deeper we delve into this season the more annoyed I get with the plight of the affluent to maintain their affluence. This isn't a criticism really. I think it's fascinating to watch a bunch of rich, spoiled babies crap their pants over the prospect of losing their fortune. Or not being able to have a vacation home or send their kids to a private school. I was really liking how dark and demented these characters were getting, but I think that Damages balked a little in "Don't Forget To Thank Mr. Zedeck." Specifically the tease regarding the newblood Hewes prospect, Alex Benjamin, and her conjugal visit to sleazy White Collar inmate Sterling Biddle (the appropriately sleazy Wallace Shawn). I felt like if this were to have happened back in Season 1, when Patty was doing things like having Katie Connor's dog executed to make her think Frobisher was after her, that Alex would have actually been pressured into having prison sex with Sterling. When I was tricked into thinking that Patty had pimped out her would-be protege I thought it was simply amazing. When it turned out not to be the case at all, then I felt the entire relationship had lost its bite.
