It is becoming more definite now that made for TV movie "Camp Rock" will get its sequel. In an interview with MTV, the film's star Demi Lovato said that production will kick off later this year after she finishes further supporting her debut album "Don't Forget" in a tour.
"There's a 'Camp Rock' sequel," she confirmed to MTV. "We're going to be shooting it at the end of the next year. Actually this year, woo! So, we'll be shooting it late 2009 and hopefully I'll be shooting it after I do a tour."
In "Camp Rock" that aired on Disney Channel last summer, Demi plays Mitchie Torres, an aspiring singer who got into a prestigious camp due to her mom's hard work as a cook. Joe Jonas of Jonas Brothers had an equally big role in the movie playing Shane Gray who is in search of a beautiful voice he heard in the camp.
It was rumored sometime ago that all the cast, including the Jonas Brothers will be back on the sequel with the addition of their little brother Frankie Jonas.
Demi Lovato is currently engaged in the filming of her new series "Sonny with a Chance" that puts her as the titular character. The series will premiere on Disney Channel on February 8.
