Conan O'Brien and Fox have resumed talks about a potential late-night show after a two-week stall, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
O'Brien was also approached to take part in the network's "Idol Gives Back" special on April 21, an offer that is unrelated to the late-night discussions, according to the report. The "Idol Gives Back" invitation came from American Idol producer 19 Entertainment - not Fox - but O'Brien's exit deal with NBC prevents him from appearing on TV until May 1.
No significant progress has been made in the resumed negotiations, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Fox declined to comment. Emails O'Brien's reps were not immediately returned.
