Weekend Ratings Roundup: How Low Can Dollhouse Go? - Featured

Friday

After the bombing in the ratings of last Friday's Dollhouse Season 2 Premiere, the 5 other Dollhouse fans remaining out there are probably wondering if the 2nd episode fared any better.

And the answer? No it did not. The second episode hit yet another series low, with just 2 million viewers. More people watched the Stargate Universe premiere over on Syfy.

The winner for the second consecutive Friday night was CBS with the combination of Ghost Whisperer (7.6 million), Medium (7.7 million) and Numb3rs (7.7 million). NBC came in second with new episodes of Law & Order, Dateline and The Jay Leno Show. ABC again opted to air repeats, which was good for a 3rd place finish.

Sunday

Highlights from Sunday included the debut of new drama Three Rivers on CBS, which premiered to a disappointing 9.2 million viewers. This might not sound like a terrible figure, but it was only good for a 4th place finish for CBS.

NBC won the night with football, followed by Fox's animated comedy block (Family Guy was the most viewed with 9.7 million; The Cleveland Show held fairly strong with 8.7 million viewers) and then ABC, whose Sunday lineup enjoyed small improvements for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters.

What did you think of the debut of Three Rivers? How much longer do we give Dollhouse?

:( Why don't you americans watch the good shows? The only shows that seem to take off don't really do anything new. Dollhouse is fresh, original and has an awesome end goal. Wendon won't ever get to show us his big master plan for the show because you guys aren't watching it. It's getting better all the time yet less people watch it. If this was aired in the UK it's rating would be through the roof, but it doesn't get shown here because all the channels here don't know if it's even gunna last much longer. Come on Buffy fans you should all be supporting Wendon, where are you?

sorry mattfinch it has got to go this season is terrible good bye dollhouse. ghostwhisperer just gets stranger and stranger that might be the next to go off my listing's only thing keeping me is the fact that Jennifer love Hewitt insists on laying flat on her back in bed and making sure her ample boobs are not covered by the sheets
three rivers going to give it a few weeks to see how it pans out i think it helps not knowing any of the actors

MattFinch,
I soo agree with you. That's just a shame that some total sh** gets viewed but Dollhouse is losing viewers all the time. Yes, the concept is strange, yes, it's difficult to watch season 2, if you didn't watch the previous season. And, yes, I understand that most people don't want to use any part of their brains when watching TV. This is totally comprehensible. But still I can't help but whine.Maybe, someone knows - is there any hope that SyFy will air the 3rd season of Dollhouse? Yes, very presumptious of me.:(

Completely agree with MattFinch. I'll follow it till it dies on TV, then wait for Whedon to do his thing... and bring it back with a dvd season or blockbuster movie.
I think studios need to start hedging their bets on online ratings and ratings in the UK and the Asia Pacific.
Shows like Dollhouse would definitely make it here (Australia), but because no stations will pick up a show until its third season, just to be safe, we all end up watching shows online and half of them get cut.
When are people going to get sick of watch the same quirky police officers solve the same boring murders using wait for it... FORENSICS! Like that's so new and original.

Well, I've been watching! I'm writing to FOX personally on behalf of Dollhouse. It does not deserve to be canceled!

Ummmm, MattFinch.....it was shown in the UK. It aired on Sci-Fi over the summer. No major station bought it, not even Five and they buy ANYTHING!!! Even ITV2 would rather show Katie and Peter (repeating it during the week as well) than buy Dollhouse. Though I enjoyed the end of season one of Dollhouse, season two has started terrible and makes me think that Dollhouse was just the lesser of two evils for Fox. Sarah Connor finally being terminated saved Joss Whedon of another failure. I hope like last season it really picks up as the core story has potential, but if it doesn't I don't think it'll last past Xmas.

I will follow dollhouse to the end regardless of when that happens. I fear that it will happen much sooner than originally intended due to the decreased amount of viewers. It's a great show, I will be sad to see it go.

The show is too unusual. The main character doesn't really have a character, being a doll and all she changed personality every episode. So its quite hard to make a bond with a any of the main actors.

I really enjoyed season 1 of dollhouse but was incredibly disappointed with the start of season 2.
