Paula Abdul will return to prime time - and a judges' table - as a part of a new dancing competition on CBS, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
CBS describes the show, titled Got to Dance and based on a British series, as broadcast television's first all-ages, all-genres dance series. The different acts will compete for a panel of judges, and viewers will eventually get to vote for their favorite dancers during the semifinal and final rounds.
Abdul, who has reportedly fielded numerous offers for new gigs since her departure from American Idol last year, will serve as lead judge, executive producer, creative partner, mentor and coach on the show, according to the Reporter.
CBS is expected to make an official announcement Monday. The network, which announced its fall schedule last week, plans to debut the series at midseason, perhaps going against a Simon Cowell-less Idol.
Will you be glad to see Abdul back in prime time?
