Abin Sur's spaceship in "Green Lantern" could have been revealed. A Madisonville resident has obtained a picture from the movie's set in Los Angeles which captures a sleek, silver spacecraft at the Mandeville Lakefront.
The ship is possibly the one which belonged to Abin Sur before he lands on Earth and passes his duty to former test pilot Hal Jordan. Photo of the spaceship from the "Green Lantern" set can be seen at Comic Book Movie.
In related news, Mark Strong recently had an interview with USA Today in which he talked about his villainous character, Sinestro. Explaining that the character was based on late actor David Niven, the English star claimed he wants "to do justice to the Sinestro that was conceived for the comic books" and will use special contact lenses for his extraterrestrial eyes.
"Sinestro starts out as Hal Jordan's mentor, slightly suspicious and not sure of him because obviously Hal is the first human being who's made into a Green Lantern. He's certainly very strict and certainly unsure of the wisdom of Hal becoming a Green Lantern," Strong further described his character. "He is a military guy but isn't immediately bad. It's the kind of person he is that lends himself to becoming bad over the course of the comics being written, but initially he's quite a heroic figure."
"Green Lantern" will revolve around an ordinary man chosen by a dying alien named Abin Sur to receive a green energy-powered ring used for protecting the planet. Ryan Reynolds plays Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, starring opposite Blake Lively who is set to be Carol Ferris, Jordan's love interest. This action adventure movie is slated to arrive in the U.S. on June 17, 2011.
