Holy Fall Anticipation: Fringe

As I scroll through today's entertainment news, there's a whole lot of postings about Fringe, the new show from JJ Abrams hitting Fox this Fall.

This is because Fringe was a major topic of discussion today for FOX at the TCA Press Tour.

Is it the next X-Files, many are asking? Abrams definitely cites it as an influence, but also specifies "Twin Peaks, The Twilight Zone, Nightstalker, the writings of Michael Crichton and Robin Cook, and even David Cronenberg films" as additional influences.

Was the pilot leak intentional?

Definitely not, according to Abrams, who is disappointed actually because the leaked version is different from the final cut.

On a scale of confusing, how confusing will it be?

Abrams promises that Fringe won't require quite as much dedication as Lost or Alias (meaning that you could feasibly skip an episode and not be completely lost).

So tell me, just how excited for Fringe are all of you? Do you think it can live up to the hype?

I saw the pilot a while ago, and I have to say, I am really looking forward to the series. It has a lot of potential.
