When I saw the commercials for this episode, I got excited because there were orange jumpsuits, hostages, a ferryboat and I immediately assumed PSYCH was going to do its take on The Dark Knight. And then I got a little scared. It's probably for the best that this fun little show decided not to tackle the bleakest movie ever and rather went for a couple of nods to Friday instead, complete with an amazing Chris Tucker impression by James Roday. While there were some funny moments throughout, I felt this wasn't one of PSYCH's best efforts because it was too slapstick-y. PSYCH is always silly, but the strongest episodes strike a balance between Shawn's goofiness and Gus' subtlety. This one leaned a bit too far into Three Stooges territory for me, so despite a solid appearance by guest star Chi McBride (Human Target), I was hoping for better.
